MMA- Mixed Martial arts is widely known as the pinnacle of fight evolution. It combines elements from almost every major martial discipline including: Wrestling, Brazilian jui-jitsu, boxing, kick boxing, judo, TaeKwon do, Sambo and Muay Thai just to name a few. MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world and has already surpassed boxing as the no. 1 combat sport in many parts of the world…
Muay Thai- Muay Thai is traditionally the national past time of the country Thailand and is now widely being used by top MMA athletes as the most effective style of ‘stand up’ techniques. It is also affectionately known as ‘the science of eight limbs’ as it utilizes the use of punches, kicks as well as elbows and knees.
BJJ- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and ground fighting. It was derived from the Japanese martial art of Kodokan Judo in the early 20th century which was itself then a recently-developed system (founded in 1882), based on multiple schools (or Ryu) of Japanese jujutsu.
It promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant using leverage and proper technique; most notably, by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat them. BJJ can be trained for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition. Sparring (commonly referred to as 'rolling') and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition.
